Turning Point

2017

Cyanotype Print

A composition of over 100 individual images from the 1980’s Palomar Observatory Sky Survey II, digitally stitched.  Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka make up Orion’s Belt, and using them to navigate, directly below Orion’s Nebula can be found, a stellar nursery where more massive stars are being formed.  The graphics incorporate notes and drawings made while using various maps and star charts to navigate Orion in the night sky.  Exhibited at Art Licks Constellations show to celebrate the equinox.
